How do you describe someone that makes you smile and in the same moment make you regret ever opening your mouth? You can't really. This person has reached for the stars than fallen to the earth and kept on falling. Enduring heartaches and hardships unnumbered. I've seen him happy and sad and at times needing my protection as much as I've needed his over the years. He reminds me of a beautiful bird trapped in a cage of so many people's making. And yet, he'll still come if I need him. He'll let me cry on his shoulder and then smack me around because I make stupid mistakes more times then I'd like to count.
And through all his heartaches, He's lost the feeling of love but knows it's there. Still, he's someone I would dance in the moonlight with even if no words were spoken. Time has come and gone and still, his cage remains. Someday, I'll see him fly free and learn to love again. Until then, he'll be a precious treasure that I hope will never leave. He dedicated a song to me once upon a long time ago. In a way, it still holds in its own dark way so unlike my own.
